Letter from the Activities

Happy New Year!! What a wonderful blessed year we have had, and I look forward to see what this year brings. I would like to take the time to mention a sweet lady I met while delivering Meals on Wheels. Her name is Patricia and from the moment I met her I knew I had a new friend. She is so sweet and kind and very loving. She had an issue with her sewing machine it had gotten wet and the motor burnt up. This made her so sad which made me and Alicia my assistant very sad, that day we told her don’t you worry you will get another sewing machine we promise! We knew what had to be done, we came straight into our facility walked right into our Administrators office and with tears in our eyes explained the situation. Without a question Mrs. Sharon King being the most caring and giving person I know quickly said ya’ll go her a new sewing machine! And that’s just what Heritage Trails did. When we went to deliver the machine Patricia was so excited, so happy and most of all so grateful. Come to find out this is the first time in her life she has ever had a brand new sewing machine, so needless to say more tears were shed that day as well. The moral of this story is to say just open up your hearts not just a little bit but all the way. You never know what someone has gone thru or what type of day they are having. Be kind and spread love this year even if it’s just a smile. So I challenge everyone reading this story to pay it forward, not necessarily with a sewing machine but whatever is put on your heart.

Thank you and God Bless,

Kristin Johnson
